Stanton SCS.3d DaScratch Controller

Besides the SCS 3d's unfortunate name it appears Stanton have done it again. Once plugged in through the SCS 3ds daRouter program this product is ready to rumble and after extensive testing on Traktor, Deckadance and Abelton the SCS's responsiveness will continue to let you rumble all day and night, although quite fiddly to begin with with the controls mastered in a matter of weeks for this price you really cant go wrong. If your still skeptical i employ you to have a try your mind may open to the possibility of becoming a digital DJ, VJ or even a nice addition to a revolutionary home studio

I've had this product for a good 6 months now and at first found it a little 'clunky' to say the least. It's REALLY difficult at first to manage the sliders especially, to set them to a set value such as 50% is hard and you'll often end up with 40% or 60% until you get the feel of the unit a bit better. I find no lag with my setup, you touch a button or move a slider and it's instant on screen. I thought it would be more easily customisable, but unless you know a lot about midi codes you can seriously forget about that (I'm talking: I thought you could change it so that the 'trigger' mode would show another set of sliders rather than trigger pads. This is apparently possible but VERY VERY involved and over my head at the moment.)
For the price though you can't go wrong, anything else around the same price just doesn't measure up.
FYI - it ISN'T like a toy - i was worried about this at first too... it is a proper piece of DJ equipment. you could gig with it, not just for bedrooms.
