The DT770M was specifically designed for drummers. It offers more isolation (approx 35dBA) than the other 770 models due to a higher clamping force and leather (rather than velour) earpads. Not the most comfortable headphone for home users, the 770M has less emphasis on bass than the other 770 models and a fairly dark overall sound making them a great choice for drummers who don't want listening fatigue. The inline volume control is located high on the cord so it's easy to reach. The DT770M includes a foam padded leather carrycase.
While these headphones are rated at 80ohms, they do not sound the same as the DT770 or DT770pro with amplification. The whole DT770 range features a very sturdy design making them ideal for studio or band work, however ALL models require dedicated amplification, even the 80ohm models.
