Ableton Live 8 Software

Ableton Live, created by those crafty Germans and based in the musical and creative hub of the world, Berlin, brings new and intuitive musical ability to the world of music sequencers. Ableton blurs the line between DAW and actual live instrument, as it was designed to allow the user to play it as much as an instrument as to be used as production software. Ableton has been used and endorsed by musicians as diverse as Daft Punk all the way through to The Horrors with many and vast in between.

Ableton breathed fresh air into the DAW world. With the use of their unique session view. Session view allows the user to chop, store and trigger multiple clips at any one time, resulting in endless possibilities for remixing on the fly or simply stumbling across a fresher take on your already existing work. Of course, Ableton still provides the user with the more traditional DAW arrangement view. However, for me the beauty is in the session view (without taking anything away from the arrangement view).

The session view, amongst other things, was the driving force behind Ableton’s recognition as a great piece of DJ software. Ableton integrates visual simplicity with a multitude of effects and provides ‘warping’ capabilities which allow any DJ to ‘beat match’ tracks fairly easily (with a bit of practice).

Ableton's seemless intergration with VST units and low CPU usage make it the perfect addition for the musician on a budget, computer wise, but additionally still easily caters for even the most advanced electronic musician and with the use of effect & instrument racks Ableton offers infinite musical capability & possibilities.

Ableton is rad & they even provide a 10-day free trial for you on their website! I don’t feel as though I need to provide a rating, however for review integrity I will, I give Ableton a 9/10, but that’s only because there is always room for improvement, right? Although, in this case I can’t see where!

I think Ableton Live 8 is one of the best producion programs money can buy. There are a ton of features and once you've been playing on it for a while you will start to get the hang of it in no time. Warping tracks and sample loops has been made easier than Ableton Live 7 you can connect midi device's such as Keyboards , Instrament machines, the Novation Launchpad and heaps of other devices and midi maping is as simple as 1 2 3. There are heaps of effects such as Beat repeat , EQ eight , Filter delay , flanger and much more there are also a midi effects that you can apply to your midi files these are very useful. You also have the choice of two views arrangement view or session view one is for live sets and one is for the production side of things. I could go on about this program for ages but I think you should go out and buy it and see for yourself.
